A minimum sustained breeze of about 3 mph is required. The canopy floats horizontally in light winds and remains functional and stable in sustained ocean winds up to 35+ mph, provided the curved arch faces directly into the breeze.
How many people fit comfortably under the Shibumi® shade?
It comfortably covers 4 to 6 adults with beach chairs, coolers, and gear. The canopy provides roughly 150 square feet of UPF 50+ shade and can accommodate up to 6 to 8 people sitting side-by-side.
How do I set up the Shibumi® on the beach?
Setup takes only 2 to 3 minutes and can easily be completed by one person. Connect the shock-corded aluminum arch pole, slide it through the canopy sleeve, plant both pole ends 6 to 8 inches into the sand facing the wind, and fill the anchor bag with sand to keep the canopy secured.
Can the Shibumi® be pitched on grass or hard ground?
No, it is engineered specifically for sandy beach environments. The frame relies on soft or packed sand to bury the arch ends 6 to 8 inches deep so the structure remains safely anchored.
How does Shibumi® delivery and pickup work at Ocean Isle Beach?
We deliver the gear directly to the ground level of your rental home by {deliveryTime} on your start date, and you do not need to be present. On your pickup date, simply return the packed gear to the original drop-off location by {pickupTime}.

Place the packed canopy in the original ground-level delivery location by {pickupTime}. Please ensure it is accessible to our drivers and not locked inside a garage, beach storage closet, or screened porch.
