FAQs about 9.5' Sit-on-Top Kayak rentals at Sunset Beach
What is the weight limit for the 9.5' Sit-on-Top Kayak?
The maximum weight capacity is 300 lbs. This capacity includes the single paddler, clothing, and all gear or coolers strapped to the deck.
Will I get wet while paddling the 9.5' Sit-on-Top Kayak?
Yes, paddlers should expect to get wet. Because it is an open sit-on-top kayak, water easily splashes into the cockpit and footwells, draining automatically through six self-bailing scupper holes.
Is the center storage hatch waterproof?
No, the center deck hatch is water-resistant rather than submersible. While it includes an internal catch bag for small items, electronics, keys, and phones should always be stored in an external dry bag.
Is the 9.5' Sit-on-Top Kayak suitable for beginners?
Yes, this kayak is well-suited for beginners and first-time paddlers. The 31.5-inch wide hull emphasizes stability, and the open deck layout makes boarding and deep-water re-entry simple and safe.
What accessories are included with my 9.5' Sit-on-Top Kayak rental?
Each kayak rental includes one kayak paddle and one adjustable life vest. Dry bags are not included with the rental.
Do I need to be present when the kayak is delivered?
No, you do not need to be present for delivery. Kayaks are delivered to the ground level of your rental property by {deliveryTime} on your scheduled delivery date. Please ensure the delivery location is accessible and not inside a locked porch, gate, or garage.
How do I return the kayak at the end of my rental period?
Place the kayak and all included gear at your original ground-level drop-off spot by {pickupTime} on your scheduled pickup date. Please ensure items remain unlocked and accessible to avoid late retrieval fees.
Where can I paddle the 9.5' Sit-on-Top Kayak in Sunset Beach?
You can paddle in the calm waters of the Intracoastal Waterway or out along the ocean beach in light surf. The boat is designed for calm coastal waters, lazy rivers, and mild ocean waves rather than heavy surf or rough open-water crossings.
